Ministry to people within the criminal justice system is CFM’s primary reason for being.  Our Community Chaplaincy Program ordains and supervises the activities of Ministers of the Gospel, who minister primarily to incarcerated and recently-released inmates and their families, many of whom also have problems with substance abuse and addiction. Our Community Chaplains enjoy all the responsibilities and privileges of the clergy, receive specialized training, and have a personal calling from God to work with hurting people in non-church venues and situations.

Our Community Chaplains are major part of the daily ministry within Christian Formation Ministries. They can be found serving within the Local Jail and Correctional facilities, Classroom and Program Leaders, as well as one-on-one mentoring for individuals and families. Our Chaplaincy program also offers oversight for ministries and organizations in transition.  For more information about our in house Community Chaplaincy program,  contact Rev. Richard Johnson at richard@christian-formation.org. If you you like get in contact with a community chaplain for a visitation, contact us at 1-(812)-945-0886 or email at info@christian-formation.org.

My Recovery

My Recovery is a faith and evidence-based recovery and re-entry program for adults from Floyd and Clark counties in Southern Indiana, who are incarcerated in, or recently-released from jail or prison; people ready to do whatever it takes to break the cycle of addiction, crime, and incarceration - permanently.

Not only does My Recovery support permanent change for you, but the entire family. Partnered together with the children's mentoring program, My Club, and the caregiver support, My Family; the whole family has the opportunity to learn and grow together within the new normal.

My Recovery mentors provide support, encouragement, and accountability during the first critical phases of transition from incarceration to free society. After completing the program, participants may also become mentors. SURE is more than a program; it is a close-knit community of individuals whose lives have been changed for the long-term. For more information about Successful Re-Entry contact Rev. Richard Johnson at richard@christian-formation.org.
