Suzanna Jacobson

Executive Director

Second generation free from addiction, Suzanna knows firsthand that hope is possible beyond prison and substance abuse. Born in Boston, MA, to a family serving families, Suzanna was a major player in the day-to-day ministry led by her parents, Richard and Dawn Johnson. By the time she was twelve, Suzanna had been to 42 states and 5 Canadian provinces, ministering in prisons, churches, and various revivals across North America.
In 2015, Suzanna became Executive Director of Kerith Family Recovery, transitioning the organization from individual adult recovery support to trauma-informed holistic care for the whole family. In the same year, Suzanna founded a weekly mentoring program called My Club, the first in the local area to support the children of prisoners, children who have experienced substance addiction in the home, and children facing adolescence with high ACE scores.

Around this time, she was introduced to Camp David International, an Angel Tree summer camp for children of prisoners, where she served her first summer as an auntie. Suzanna came back the following year to be trained as a camp director. My Camp of Southern Indiana served its first campers in 2018, actively serving 150+ at-risk youth in the Southern Indiana region. 2019 saw the founding of the Leadership Camp, a leadership mentoring training program to create more active second-generation free from addiction and powerless thinking.

Suzanna is currently serving as Vice President of the Floyd Co Rotary Club, a member of the Fred Rogers Educators Program, and a member of Leadership Southern Indiana.
In 2022, she was named one of Louisville Business First 40 under 40 for her transformative prevention work in the Kentuckiana region. She was recently elected as the Floyd Co representative for District 9, DFS Prevention and Mental Health.
